Semi-Continuous Sugar Dissolving System
Process Description
Water is metered into the mixing tanks and circulated by a recirculation pump while dry sugar is added using the powder eductors. When the sugar has been added, the syrup is pumped by the filter feed pump through the product pre-coat filter, which removes any undissolved solids. The filtered product flows to the finished product storage tank. The finished simple syrup is then pumped to the use points. A side stream of the filtered product is used to make a slurry of the filter pre-coat media which is deposited on the filter surface.
