Sandwich Creme Processing
Process Description
Vegetable oils and other ingredients are mixed together and transferred to a holding tank. Finely granulated sugar is added to the pre-blend stream and mixed in the slurry mixer. The product slurry drops into the slurry holding tank where it is held and heated. The slurry is pumped from the holding tank by a positive displacement pump and filtered air is added before it flows to a Votator® scraped surface heat exchanger cooler. After the product is crystallized and cooled to filling temperatures, it flows to the depositor. Any excess product is remelted and returned to the slurry holding tank.

Process System Features
- Slurry blending and mixing design insures all sugar particles are properly wetted with the oil stream.
- Votator® scraped surface heat exchangers yield the most efficient heat exchange for extremely viscous products and crystallizing applications.
- Multiple coolers/crystallizers can be operated in parallel to achieve higher production rates.
- Unused product can be remelted in a remelt tank, the slurry holding tank or a continuous heat exchanger depending on operation requirements.
- Programmable logic controls available for repeatable product consistency.
