Continuous Gelatin Cooling & Extrusion
Process Description
Concentrated gelatin is transferred from the evaporators to the feed tank. A hot water jacket on the feed tank maintains the product at the optimum temperature for pumping. The product is pumped by a Waukesha rotary positive pump to the Votator® scraped surface heat exchanger where it is cooled. The cooled product flows through an extrusion plate that creates multiple strands of product. The strands are transferred by a conveyor belt to the drying and grinding operations.
