Aseptic Juice Processing With Pulp
Process Description
Raw product from the balance tank is transported by a booster pump through the raw regenerator section where it is pre-heated by sterile product from the sterile regenerator. The product then flows to the timing pump, which controls the product flow rate of the system. Pre-heated raw product enters the heater section from the timing pump and is heated to the sterilizing temperature before entering the holding tube. Processed product from the holding tube enters the sterile regenerator section where it is pre-cooled by incoming product from the raw regenerator. Processed product is then cooled to filling temperature and flows through a set of divert valves to a customer supplied filler or back to the balance tank. Water from the balance tank is used for CIP of the system and for system sterilization prior to running product.
Process System Features
- Corrugated tubular design eliminates pinch points, minimizing pulp hang-up. Process flowpath can be CIP’ed without backflushing or opening heat exchangers for manual cleaning and inspection.
- Pulp as large as 10mm can be processed at concentrations up to 15% without damage or retention.
- Direct regeneration for maximum heat recovery. Indirect regeneration is available as an option.
- Utilizes centrifugal pumps for single strength juice and drinks. Positive displacement pump designs
- available for concentrates and other more viscous products.
- Various control systems configurations (manual to fully integrated automatic) available to meet operating requirements.
- Options include: deaeration to minimize product oxidation; meter based timing for maximum holding time control; two tank Uni-Surge in-feed system for rapid switching to and from high value products
- Lower temperature cooling or higher temperature processing are available.
